Property Rights, Parades, Pig Roast and Public Education

Property Rights Forum – The Benzie County GOP hosted a breakfast meeting with Russell Harding of the Mackinac Center for Public Policy Institute back in June at Money's Platte River Inn.

Parades, Parades hip-hip-hooray! – Benzie County GOP enjoyed strong showings in both the Frankfort and Beulah 4 th of July Parades. Last Saturday, foul weather was braved for another strong showing at the annual Coho Festival parade in Honor (didn't see many Dems?). Stay tuned for the next fun parade this fall for the Frankfort Fall Festival. Come on out this fall – it's more fun to walk and ride in a parade than to watch!

Annual Labor Day Pig Roast – Monday September 7 th

Come one, come all to the ever popular 6 th Annual Pig Roast hosted by the Clark Family at the Cherry Bowl Drive-in.

Tickets are $5 per adult and $20 per family. This year's pig has been purchased by State Rep. Darwin Booher who is currently an announced Republican candidate for the 35 th State Senate seat currently held by Sen. Michelle McManus who is term-limited.

Dinner starts at 6:00pm with face-painting and activities with a movie to follow at dusk. Bring friends and family – eat well and have fun!

Public Education Forum (Oct/Nov) – Benzie County GOP would like to host another public forum this fall that looks at the current state of affairs of our local Frankfort and Benzie Central schools. Please help by providing input on whether this might be a panel discussion and speakers to invite. Adequate school funding continues to hang in doubt. Before we can begin to solve it – we need to understand it.
